It’s Chico (itschico.com) is an independent local guide to events, places and history in Chico, California and the towns within about an hour of it. We are building it in six areas: Chico itself; Oroville and Lake Oroville; Paradise and the Ridge; Durham, Gridley and Biggs; Orland and Glenn County; and Red Bluff and Corning. These are our own groupings, not official boundaries. The site covers festivals, concerts, Bidwell Park and Bidwell Mansion, food and drink, arts, outdoors and holiday events, with the practical details first: when, where, what it costs, and who runs it.
Where The Site Stands
It’s Chico is new (October 2026). The events calendar, area guides and history pages are being added one area at a time, starting with Chico, Bidwell Park and Bidwell Mansion. Until a page says an event is confirmed, treat it as not listed.
Who We Write For
People who live in Chico and the North Valley, Chico State students and their visiting families and friends, and travelers who want to know what is on and how to get there.
Who Writes This
It’s Chico is made by the small team behind It’s Georgia and our other local guides. Every date, price and hour is checked against the organizer’s own page, and the page shows the date it was checked. Guides are published under the byline of the It’s Chico editorial team. Read our Editorial Standards.
How This Site Gets Made
AI tools help us build It’s Chico, and we want you to know that. They speed up the research, help sort through sources, and handle much of the formatting and technical work. What they don’t do is decide what’s worth building. The It’s Chico team decided that every listing should show who runs the event, what it costs and the date we checked it, that Bidwell Mansion and the story of how Chico began deserve their own pages, and that the towns around Chico get their own areas; the team designed how the site looks and chose every feature on it. Every date, price and hour is checked against the organizer’s own page before it goes live.
